Hollywood Hounds – hoarding – The City of Denton Animal Services unexpectedly seized 51 dogs from a criminal hoarding situation in their city.  The shelter was only expecting 10 dogs.  Receiving 51 animals into an already full shelter put a huge strain on the shelter.  They had to stop intake of animals immediately.  We set up an emergency temporary shelter to receive the animals, care for them and house them at an offsite location so that the shelter could go back to being. a resource for their community.  The animals received full exams, vaccines, HW testing, treatment in addition to daily care and enrichment. During this the COVID break out happened.  With all that AIR was able to find placement for the dogs locally and with out of stater rescue partners.   AIR and ASPCA transported animals to MN to an approved rescue partner while the remaining dogs were transferred to local rescue. Resources became sparse very quickly with closures of valuable partner organizations taking place due to COVID-19. Length: 6 weeks. Placement: 100% outcome
