June 2025 – Coyote Transport
Partnerships make us all stronger – AIR was asked to assist our national partner Humane World for Animals (Previously known as Humane Society of the United States with the transport of coyotes seized from a fur and urine farm. Humane World needed transport for these deserving coyotes to their permitted sanctuary. AIR responders jumped into action to assure safe transport for 6 of these deserving coyotes. Our logistics and Transport Team worked quickly to arrange the long safe trip to their final home.
Humane World (HSUS) and Ohio authorities completed a rescue operation of hundreds of animals from a fur and urine farm near Cleveland, Ohio.
The Ashtabula County Commissioner’s Office requested the assistance of HSUS after the owner of Grand River Fur Exchange died in late December 2024, escalating an already dire animal welfare crisis on the property. To learn more about this seizure HWA has posted a youtube.
The animals from this farm, some of whom were bred in captivity while others were caught in the wild, were being confined and slaughtered for fur, as well as bred for sale as exotic pets, and held captive to farm them for their urine, which is advertised for use in hunting, trapping, dog training and as a wild animal deterrent for gardeners.
